# Automation needs clean handovers

How clear handovers, human review, and escalation keep automation controlled while giving operations teams the context needed to decide.

Not every process should run fully autonomously. Many valuable automations happen where an agent prepares, structures or prioritizes work and a person makes the final decision.

The quality of that model depends on the handover. A team needs more than an output; it needs context, sources, open assumptions and the reason for escalation.

## Handovers are part of the design

A good handover is not a chat transcript. It is a compressed working basis: What happened? Which data was checked? Which decision is pending? Which risks are visible?

If this information is missing, the human reviewer becomes a detective again.

## Typical handover points

- approvals for sensitive actions
- exceptions outside clear rules
- conflicting data sources
- customer or production cases with high risk
- cases with missing context

## Human and agent as one process

Human review works best when it is not planned as an emergency brake. It should be a normal workflow state: measurable, visible and connected to clear responsibilities.

Then automation becomes not less controlled, but more resilient.
